New Video: Broken Land - Part 1 - A promo Documentary of Sorts

Over the last couple of years we've been collecting footage of our endeavors as a band and now we've thrown some of it into what we hope becomes the first of a series of shorts. From stage to studio, we're grateful for our talented friends that have filmed, photographed, and recorded us along the way, and we hope to keep it up so we can continue to document where Broken Land leads us next.

BolderBeat - Broken Land: Colorado Alt-Country Band Ready to Keep You Dancing

Thanks to the BolderBeat for the shout-out! If you want to stay in touch with local musicians and shows, make sure to follow their page.

Excerpt:

By: Hannah Oreskovich

Based out of Lafayette, CO, alt-country rock band Broken Land have been playing the Front Range together since 2014. Comprised of members Todd Schroeder (vocals), Chris Anton (guitar), Rick Schwolsky (pedal steel/dobro), Chris Howarth (bass), Curt Pleiss (drums), and Allison Langley (vocals), the six-piece outfit are currently signed to Drowsy Dog Records.

After a series of earlier EPs, Broken Land released their debut self-titled album this past March. Its 12 tunes boast plenty of rockin’ twang and boot-stompin’ alt-country goodness to get you up off your feet and onto that local brewery dance floor (you know you want to).

Broken Land Heads Back into the Studio

Every new band sets its sight on a series of goals and works as a group to achieve them. And for any band at any level, heading into a world-class recording studio is high on the list – especially if you’re bringing fresh, new, original songs with you.

After releasing our first three EP’s of original tunes last year, Broken Land has booked recording sessions at Far And Away Studios (www.farnawaystudios.com) in Boulder, CO to record a collection of remarkable new songs that builds on the musical foundation we’ve laid – and at the same time -- takes us into new musical terrain. Songwriting is at the core of our journey, and our commitment to create original, unbound music is the basis of our collaboration.

On a lot of levels this past year has been so rewarding for our band. We’ve had some great shows including recent appearances at Nissi’s, Odd13, and Bootstrap Brewing, and now we get to immerse ourselves in a super studio, unleash these new tunes – and bring out the essence of our music: passionate stories, powerful arrangements, and a collective voice. We love what we do. We love doing it together. And we can’t wait to share these new songs with you.

Thanks for being part of Broken Land!

EP - Broken Land I now available

After over a year of writing and recording, we're proud to announce the release of our first of three EPs titled Broken Land I! Although most of the songs for our full length album are more or less recorded, we're still touching them up before sending them off to be mastered. As this is a costly and time-consuming process, the plan is to release three EPs over the next few months before finally releasing our first full length album. Feel free to check out the EP below or stream/purchase it at your favorite online music listening/buying service!
